About The Event
Over the past few years the world of interpreting has experienced a marked shift toward the use of virtual technology to accommodate an increased demand for off-site interpreting. Â As we look forward to future uncertainties it's likely that this demand will continue to exist in order to address the ever changing climate we live in. Â In addition to VRS interpreting the need for VRI interpreting places unique demands on our bodies. Â Many of us find ourselves feeling more pain after just a few hours of video interpreting. Â What are some of the physical challenges unique to video interpreters? Â What adjustments can the video interpreter make to decrease pain and improve function? Â During this highly interactive and movement based workshop we discuss everything from ergonomics, simple product recommendations, and mobility exercise suggestions to keep you working at your very best. Â This workshop will earn .3 CEUs in area of professional studies. Â This workshop will be presented in ASL. Â A replay with audio will be available following the live even. Â Video demonstrations for move labs include both CC and audio.Â
