About The Event
Over the past few years the world of interpreting has experienced a marked shift toward the use of virtual technology to accommodate an increased demand for off-site interpreting. As we look forward to future uncertainties it's likely that this demand will continue to exist in order to address the ever changing climate we live in. In addition to VRS interpreting the need for VRI interpreting places unique demands on our bodies. Many of us find ourselves feeling more pain after just a few hours of video interpreting. What are some of the physical challenges unique to video interpreters? What adjustments can the video interpreter make to decrease pain and improve function? During this highly interactive and movement based workshop we discuss everything from ergonomics, simple product recommendations, and mobility exercise suggestions to keep you working at your very best. This workshop will earn .3 CEUs in area of professional studies. This workshop will be presented in spoken english. The ASL version of this workshop will be presented later this year.
